QUINN VASQUEZ is a fictional book character, and the Author has left her story unfinished. That shouldn’t have been an issue, as life still goes on in the fictional Metropolis. Quinn attends school, deals with boy problems, and all those other things you’d expect from a cheesy teenage story. However, the Author’s old, forgotten work begins to collide with the new, causing Quinn’s reality to shatter. Now, she has to deal with monsters and overlapping timelines that only bring chaos, and without the Author to fix things, she isn’t sure what to do.Worst of all, if she tells anyone about what the Metropolis really is, they turn into monsters themselves.The Metropolis Series (alternatively known as Quinn and the Metropolis) is a three-part illustrated novel series that explores what happens to unfinished work, and what dangers its characters have to face in turn. Will Quinn be able to overcome these challenges, or will the world around her spiral into ruin?

Cassandra is what Quinn calls her “evil twin”. It isn’t clear why Cassandra bothers Quinn, but it is believed that Cassandra was scrapped by the Author and replaced by Quinn.She is currently the Metropolis’ greatest threat. Before the events of the book, she attacked a group of the Author's forgotten characters and fled into the city.

Harumi

Harumi is Quinn’s roommate and best friend, who she sometimes refers to as an older sister. She enjoys eating and has a cheerful disposition, but she hides a secret she doesn’t want Quinn to know.

Julio is a Forgotten character who is sworn to protect the Metropolis. At first, he’s hostile toward Quinn because he mistakes her for Cassandra. However, they grow closer as Quinn learns more of the Metropolis’ secrets from him.

Quinn is jealous of Rachael's relationship with Curtis. It doesn’t help that she’s a talented singer and guitarist, making her popular among students.Rachael was also previously in a relationship with Julio, but now that Julio’s scrapped by the Author, her memories of him are gone.

Bree is the student council president of St. John’s Academy. She plays the bass and used to be in Deus Ex Machina, a band with Rachael, Curtis, and Philip. However, she left for unknown reasons. She convinces Quinn to become Deus Ex Machina’s manager for both extra credit and a chance to be closer to Curtis.
